Come join our Mary Kay Fundraiser June 8 starting at 1pm at  Caribou Coffee-  3100 White Bear Ave N, Maplewood, MN. 40% of all sales will be donated to CHDR!

On June 29 we will be participating in the CBS Radio Pet-A-Palooza from 10-5pm at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Click here for more info! Admission is free.

On July 29 we will be hosting a bowling fundraiser in Hudson,WI at the Hudson Bowling Center at 5pm.

Paws on Grand invited Coco’s Heart to participate in their event on August 4 from 11-4pm on Grand Avenue in St Paul, MN.

3rd Annual Coco’s Heart 5K Doggie Day will be held at Lake Phalen in St. Paul on August 10. Race packet pickup starts at 8am, with the race starting at 9am. Visit here for more information and for the link to register or donate!

Ellie would love to find a home to call her own- check her out!

Breed: Pit-bull Terrier

History: Ellie is a sweet and beautiful 6 month old. She had previously found herself dumped at an overcrowded shelter, likely having been used as a bait dog. She has made a great recovery and is ready to find a family to call her own! She is very sweet and social. She is excellent with people and dogs. She is very smart and would make a great agility dog! She is a very petite girl with a small frame. Her foster mom adores her and says she is a dream puppy! She is the best cuddle-buddy of all time!

Update from Foster Mom:

Ellie is doing great, she is such a sweet girl, and calling her the best cuddle-buddy of all time is more of an understatement but not sure how else to describe her.  Ellie is 7 months old, she knows sit, she is a good walker doesn’t pull but she is a weaver and with a little training will be a great walking buddy.  She has had a couple accidents (in 6 weeks that is pretty good when you’re house training) in the house but I think the humans are to blame for that.  She will go to the door and let you know she needs to go out.

Ellie is a pretty easy going pup, she gets her typical puppy spurts of energy twice a day, loves to run around in the yard, chase a ball, play with the other dogs in the house, follow me around or our 21 month old son.  She is great with him, she even let him brush her teeth and then he brushed his with the same tooth brush…and then brushed her teeth again.  She loves him and gives lots of kisses, checks in on him every night before bed time, and loves to follow him around and snuggle.

Ellie usually goes to bed around 8:00 she is always snuggled up with me on the couch and as soon as I go to bed she is right with me.  Ellie is a pillow hog so I would suggest getting a body pillow for your pillow so you can have a little bit.  If she isn’t snoring right next to you on the pillow, than she is cuddled up close to you.

We are working on not jumping up we only give attention if all 4 paws are on the floor.  She automatically sits for treats even from a baby.  She quickly bonds with people she was my shadow right away and she will quickly bond with you as well.

Social Capital always features three causes at each of their events- and we are proud to announce that they have chosen Coco’s Heart Dog Rescue as one of the causes for their upcoming Social Capital’s Party for Paws event! (other causes featured include, Helping Paws and Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue). We are so excited that Social Capital has given us this opportunity and hope you can all join us at this event because it’s time to party for a purpose!

*Come mingle with friends and enjoy the awesome vibe of Urban Eatery on Lake Calhoun while supporting a good cause!

*A DJ will start spinning tunes later in the evening to keep the dance floor hot. Spend your night partying with a purpose!

*Free VALET! Anyone is welcome so bring your friends and spread the word!

*The event is free to attend, but a donation (of as much or as little as you’d like) is encouraged (Social Capital accepts both cash and credit). Social Capital believes you should always have the power to decide where your money goes and how much you donate, so each donor gets to select the organization that will receive their donation.
