History: Belle is a beautiful senior lab who needed help when her elderly owner was moving into an apartment that did not allow pets. She is very friendly with dogs and cats and loves to play catch. Belle is the sweetest girl with a loving and affectionate personality who is hoping to find a family of her own again soon, you will not be disappointed!
A note from the foster: There are a couple very important thing you need to know about Belle when considering adopting her- she is obsessed with her tennis ball, loves playing fetch, and adores any type of affection. I always find her laying around the house with a ball in her mouth, and even takes her ball with her every time we go outside, just in case we play fetch. She loves any time of affection, and could spend hours just being pet by her human.
Belle is 100% potty trained, and is very good at letting you know when she has to go. Once outside, she immediately goes.
Belle is used to being in the kennel during the day while I am at work, although she had some anxiety with this when we first got her-she would drool large amounts. Due to this she does take anxiety medication, although it would not be needed if she was not left alone for large period of times.
I am unsure how Belle is around cats, but she does do well with older children in my experience.
Overall, Belle has a wonderful and easygoing temperament, yet still unsure of the extent she will let humans love her. She will cuddle up with us on the couch or bed, and let us pet her, however if we start to get in her face too much, or try to hold her, she gets overwhelmed and hides in her kennel. Even with her hesitations about how much she will let humans love her, we adore her and her personality.
Belle is just looking for a nice, quiet home to spend the rest of her life. Although she may be considered "senior", every person she has met agreed she has so much more life left in her. She could play fetch until she collapsed from exhaustion, yet knows how to spend the evening curled up on the couch next to us watching tv. She would make a wonderful addition to any home.
