Meet Donk!

Donk is a super young handsome miniature gelding who was surrendered to rescue on August 26th, 2022 from a local hoarding situation when he was just a yearling.

He is Richard’s companion and a very important job that is! He helps teach Richard all things horse and is very proud of his role here at the barn.

Donk is very special himself. He has only one ear after an injury took place resulting in losing his left eye. Because of this, he sees the world differently.

Hayyyyyy, did you know? Donk is an ambassador too!

Donk has attended our annual Children’s Day event as well as our summer day camps and provided education for young children and the youth in our community. He advocates for educating our future generations as well as is an ambassador to being different. With one eye, Donk has learned to adjust to seeing the world differently than a typical horse would.

Our team approaches Donk from the right rather than the left. This is atypical but so important for Donk to feel safe. He is such a sweet boy who looks forward to meeting you!
