History: I am a dog from the Out of the Cold Rescue Effort!
We recently were arrived back to rescue with over 400+ dogs and 20+ cats looking for a second chance after being surrendered to rescue. They are each going through their own individual journeys while in rescue- many needing extensive medical attention for orthopedic care, dentals, skin issues, etc. Other health concerns were goopy eyes, ear infections, mange, and in need of a good bath and grooming.
These deserving souls will get all the care they need and be ready to go home to your family soon!
A note from the foster: Sparrow (aka "Spare Bear") is a gentle, laid-back lady looking for her perfect forever home! This sweet girl is the ultimate companion for someone seeking a calm and well-mannered furry friend. Don't let her confidence fool you – beneath that self-assured exterior is a total cuddle bug who loves nothing more than snuggling up and watching the world go by.
A true professional at home, Sparrow is a model of good behavior. She respects boundaries, doesn't beg or steal food, and keeps her paws off things that aren't hers. Her kennel is her peaceful sanctuary, where she rests quietly day and night. While she's protective enough to alert her family to new arrivals, she quickly settles down once she realizes it's just a familiar face.
Sparrow is working on her walking skills and is already showing tremendous progress. Her ideal family would continue her training with patience and love. While she'd prefer to be the solo canine in her forever home, she's shown she can coexist with other dogs when properly introduced – especially those close to her size for play dates.
This sunshine-loving pup has a few favorite pastimes: soaking up warm rays, watching the neighborhood from her window perch, rides in the car, and playing with squeaky toys. She's particularly fond of teenage companions and has a special talent for quickly making a house feel like home.
Could Sparrow be your perfect match? She's ready to bring her sweet, confident energy and boundless love to a family that understands her need for consistent, loving boundaries. Are you that special someone?
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsively more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
