History: Ana is a super beautiful little lady who needed a second chance to a good life. She is eager to please and hopes to find her forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Ana is a sweetheart of a dog! She has finally gotten to the good life, out of the breeding life cycle, and she is ready to roll! She is learning quickly that cuddles, pets and couch time are so wonderful! Our two resident dogs have been super great in letting her take her time and then out of nowhere she goes running after them and roughhousing with them! She has met several dogs of all sizes and does great with them. She hasn’t been a flight risk and in fact stays close to the house. She seems to like best the warmth of inside – her favorite spot when we work from our office is laying in front of our office space heater.
She is quiet and dry all through the night – usually 8-10 hours!!! Never once did I have to get up with her! I believe she is potty trained during the day but she went into heat right when I got her so she’s been wearing some protective garments to prevent spotting in the house-these have been dry. She got spayed 2/7.
She had horrible care so her teeth were in need of help. She had several pulled 2/7 and the rest all cleaned up so they sparkle! She can be on regular food. But she has thrown up small amounts, about once/day just random and out of the blue, sometimes just water. She might still be adjusting to her food but we are trying a couple inexpensive meds like an antacid and we will see if that helps but it is so random and little that I almost forgot about it. And it doesn’t seem to bother her at all. I am hopeful it will pass.
She also was found to have a grade 3 of 4 subluxating patella but I haven’t noticed anything that could be a sign of that so the vet has decided at her age not to do anything. This may never be a problem just something to be aware of and watch for. She does steps, runs, jumps up/down from the couch and her walk and run look good.
She is a bit more on the low-medium energy side so doesn’t need a lot of exercise just good basic care and activity. Everyone who has met her has been so endeared to her gentle ways. She will make a great companion and in any type of home that has love to give her…she’ll return it a gazillion times over!!!!!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
