History: April is a beautiful young girl who needed help from an unfortunate situation and arrived to rescue eager to please. It was found that she is heartworm positive and will be undergoing treatment before she can be officially adopted.
Because of this, she will be available as a foster to adopt while she undergoes her treatments!
A Note from the Foster: Hi, my name is April, and I’m so excited to be your next best friend!
My absolute favorite thing is snuggling. I could lay next to someone on the couch and get pets ALL DAY. As a bonus, I have super soft fur and barely shed! It’s a win-win!
Here are some other great things about me:
✅Great on walks! I weave a little bit sometimes, but am great at taking redirection!
✅ Good with other dogs. I haven’t been around kids or cats, but I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body, so I’m hoping it would go well.
✅ Potty trained! I haven’t had an accident once since joining my foster family.
✅ Crate trained if I can see my people. If you prefer I sleep in my crate overnight in your room, I can make that work! Right now my foster family lets me sleep on the floor by their bed, and I love it!
✅ Quick learner. I already know “come” and “sit,” and am practicing others!
I struggle sometimes when I can’t see my people or when they leave, but I’m getting better at it everyday. I would love to be your best friend and cuddle buddy!
Adoption Fee: $750 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
