History: Arya FKA Connie was recently returned to rescue when her adopter’s lifestyle had changed and Arya had become more anxious with the change. She has been settling back into rescue and in the right foster home has been thriving! She is a very sweet medium size beauty who is hoping to find her patient home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Meet Arya, a 4-year-old Australian Cattle Dog, weighing in at 50 lbs and ready to find her forever home!
Arya is very well-trained understanding commands like ‘sit, down, stay’ and she even has impeccable table manners—she won’t eat until given permission. She feeds well from puzzle mats and seems to prefer these to normal bowls.
She’s a people-lover through and through, always eager to be near her humans and shower them with affection. She also gets along well with other dogs she meets on walks, making her a great companion for social outings. Arya is currently being fostered in a home with two adults and no children but her previous owners said that she was good with children.
Arya is housetrained and has had no accidents and has proven she can be left home alone without any issues. She does not like being crated, but this is something she is currently working on. However, she travels well in a car with a harness, so transportation is not an issue.
Arya enjoys her daily walks and would thrive in a home with an enclosed yard where she can sniff and explore to her heart’s content. She’s the perfect match for someone who enjoys outdoor adventures but also appreciates a snuggly, loving presence indoors.
Arya’s previous owners reported that she had bouts of IBS when she was separated from them for long periods of time (weeks) and as a result she is on a special diet.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
