History: We recently welcomed a group of deserving puppies and young dogs to our organization from an overcrowded shelter who needed to give them a second chance! They are sweet, social, and goofy pups who are hoping to find their forever home soon!
A note from the foster: Hi everyone! I’m Astro! No relation to the Jetson’s dog. I’m much more fun.
I am currently hanging out with a cool foster family, but know I can do better. I live with three other large dogs and am still working on making sure they know I’m in charge. Here is a picture of me trying to tell the resident pit bull she reports to me.
I may appear a little skittish at first, but once I trust you not to give me bad treats, you will learn I love snuggles and belly rubs.
I am working hard on potty training and only have accidents when I’m left alone too long. I love long walks, and sticks, and when I’m happy to see you, my whole body wiggles!
Update Part B -
Hi Everyone! Astro here again. I thought you would like to get an update on my progress, so here goes -
I am almost potty trained! I haven't had any accidents in a long time, but I'm still working on letting my foster parents know when it's time to go outside. They are pretty good at recognizing that when I get restless, it might be time to go out.
I have tons of energy and would do better in a house with another dog or with active people. I LOVE my current fur-siblings and want to play constantly, even if it involves laying on the floor next to them and chewing on their necks. I haven't met a dog that I didn't like!
I am still working on trusting new people. I love to play and snuggle with my foster parents, but it took a couple of days for me to trust them. So - you will need to be a little patient with me as I learn to trust you. My foster parents are taking me out to these places called breweries to socialize me, which I really love because there are lots of dogs there. When people want to pet me and gently approach me, I'm usually ok. If I get nervous, I back away and never get aggressive.
The most exciting news, though, is that my foster parents did a DNA test to find out my background! Turns out my top 5 breeds are in the photo below!
I'm only 40 pounds now (at 7 months), which my foster mom says is the miniature shepherd in me. I don't think I'll get much bigger, but she tells me it makes me the perfect size! Not too big, not too small, juuuuust right!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsively more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
