History: I am Lucy’s puppy!
Lucy is a beautiful pittie mix momma who arrived to rescue from one of our partnering organizations in North Dakota with her litter of pups. Lucy had been abused prior to finding rescue with our partner and had been working hard on her trust building. She has been a wonderful momma and her puppies are officially ready to find forever homes of their own!
Bernard had a heart murmur at birth however after an echo had been done on him, it has since resolved and he is officially ready for adoption!
A Note from the Foster: Bernard is coming into his own since being separated from his litter. He is a rambunctious boy with lots of energy. He loves other dogs, is learning to walk on a leash and is doing GREAT with potty training. He will go on a potty pad OR goes immediately when taken outside. He has pretty much mastered this and rarely has an accident. He is a love bug and wants to be close to people. He sleeps really well at night and prefers snuggling in bed instead of his kennel. He lets you know by being vocal when left in the kennel. Eventually he will settle down if put in a kennel. He does well with kids but is a typical puppy and is teething...so right now he is very mouthy. Children over 5 might be best while he is still in the puppy stage. He does understand the word No. He loves to be outside and is learning to walk on his leash. He is a very well-rounded happy boy!
In the attached photos, he is in line with my dogs waiting for a treat from Foster Dad, In the other photo - let's go upstairs and play with the other dogs Mom

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
