History: Bluebird is a beautiful and unique girl who arrived to rescue looking for a second chance. She is a sweet girl who prefers the company from us people from afar. She is a great companion if you are okay with not cuddling her. She likes to be in our presence but does not actively seek affection.
Because of this, a fenced in yard is important for her to feel most comfortable as she does not respond great on the leash yet at this time.
She is a mellow and laid back girl and in the right home will be a wonderful little dog to have around and provide a great life for.
A Note from the Foster: Bluebird would do well in a home with another calm dog. She would probably do better in a home without children as she likes a more calm environment. She does not like her kennel, but I have not had to kennel her in my home when I am at work and she does not get into anything and has had no accidents. She doesn't take herself to the door to let me know she needs to go out, but she just goes outside whenever I put her out with my other dog. She enjoys being outside especially when its nice and warm outside.
She likes to lay on the couch and sleeps with me in bed on the far ends of each.
She may come around to human touch and trust people in time with patience and love. She sure is a cutie!!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
