History: We recently received a plea to help an adorable litter of lemon and white beagle pups. They arrived to rescue eager to get a new start to life and work on gaining some weight as they arrived underweight and in sad shape. They are each hoping to find forever homes of their very own soon!
A Note from the Foster: Brooke is a 6-month-old beagle and is the happiest pup! If you’re not sure if she’s happy, just look her direction and she will wag her tail and give you the cutest puppy dog eyes.
She loves to be by your side and will follow you everywhere. She will curl up in your lap, snuggle in next to you on the couch, or lay on the floor next to your chair. She also likes her naps, especially after an episode of playing with her toys or the occasional ‘zoomie’ session. She loves to give kisses and lick your whole face if you will let her.
She does great in her kennel all night or while foster parents are working and doesn’t make a sound.
Brooke is doing well with potty training – she went four full days with no accidents before having a little slip-up She does great on a schedule and loves her walks around the neighborhood, meeting new people and dogs and discovering all the new smells.
Brooke’s foster family doesn’t have kids or other dogs in the house, but she has met plenty of both in the neighborhood and loves kids of all ages and all dogs she has met. She has not yet been exposed to cats.
She is a little ‘jumpy’ with loud noises or sudden movements but recovers quickly once she realizes she’s safe.
Brooke is a real sweetheart – calm and content but playful, and happiest when she is feeling safe with her people. She just wants to love and be loved.
Other notes about Brooke:
-She would do great with a family with kids to chase around and play with her.
- She was pretty skinny when we picked her up but we’re working on that with 3 meals a day and treats when she goes potty outside!
-She is scheduled to be spayed on Dec. 1.
Adoption Fee: $550 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
