History: Butch is a handsome boy who was adopted as a puppy and returned to rescue about 4 years later after he and the other resident dog were no longer compatible. Butch can and does live with other dogs but does best with laid back, quieter, adult dogs over those who would be in his face. He has experience with living with children and had no issues and loves people very much. He is hoping to find his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Hello everyone I’m Butch and the sweetest dog ever!! I’m currently living with my foster family and love all the attention from the 9 and 12 year old residents (and the neighborhood kids!) After a slow introduction, the resident dog and I are fast friends who like to play, tease each other with toys, and chill out with my foster family.
I’m fully potty trained with no accidents in the house since they learned my routine. I enjoy my crate and happy to spend time in there when people are away. I understand my boundaries in the house of staying off furniture and learning to give the resident dog space with their food. I enjoy playing with toys, and I know the difference of what is mine and what is not.
My foster family is excited that I know a lot of commands including sit, shake, wait, and come. I’m still working on heeling on walks as I love to investigate everything! I love to play fetch but don’t like giving up the ball. I’m at my best with lots of love and attention from my foster family and love meeting new people. I might get excited when meeting new people but easily redirected to find a calmer way to greet them.
I can’t wait to give you my “take me home” face, and learning my forever home’s routine and giving them all my love ❤️Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
