History: Cascade is a beautiful girl who was surrendered to rescue by a commercial breeding program and has been doing well in her foster home. She is working on her trust and confidence and is hoping to find her forever home soon!
A note from the foster: Hi there, I'm Cascade! My foster family says this name is perfect for me, because just like the river I’m named after, I go with the flow! My foster family says I’m very chill, and as sweet as can be. I am what they call a miniature poodle and am 2 years old and 10 pounds.
My foster family says I’m what they like to call a “Velcro dog”. I love to follow my foster family around the house and be near them, even if it’s laying on the floor in the same room. I can be a bit shy with new people, but I am very friendly and enjoy being pet and held. I will put my paw on you to ask for pets and love belly rubs!
My foster family says I am very smart. I know how to do stairs and am working on leash training and potty training. I am still working on going potty consistently outside, and may still have accidents in the home. I know with a patient human teacher, I will learn quickly! I do great on car rides and know how to sit in a dog car seat. I am a good listener and come when my name is called.
Crate training has also been going well. As long as I can see you, I sleep through the night without a peep! I don’t like being left alone in the crate; if I’m left alone I will cry to make sure you know I’m still there. I keep my crate neat and have no accidents in it. I will start to whine in my crate to alert you when I need to go out.
I do have a bit of what my foster family calls separation anxiety, and I cry when my foster family leaves me behind. Once I realize my humans will come back, I think I will be just fine! Other than that I am very quiet and rarely bark.
I have met a few children, and enjoy getting pet by them. Loud noises still sometimes startle me, so kids that are kind and gentle with me would be best. I have met a few cats and I ignore them.
While I will occasionally boop noses with other dogs or smell them, I otherwise don’t interact with them much. And while I am friendly with them, my favorite attention is human attention. Did I mention I love snuggles and pets? I am a complete snuggle bug and want to be the center of your WHOLE WORLD!
Because I’m a poodle, I will require grooming every 4-8 weeks to keep my curly hair nice and fresh looking!
I can’t wait to find my furever home and share my love with my new family! Could it be you?!
Adoption Fee: $550 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsively more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
