History: Cayda FKA Acadia is a stunning young girl who was recently returned to rescue. She has some underlying anxiety and would do best with a confident and experienced family without small children due to her energy and size. She is a very sweet girl who would make a great addition to the right family!
A note from the foster: Cayda loves going for walks, playing, and engaging with people. She is a beautiful, athletic, playful girl who needs a confident owner. A fenced in yard is a big plus because she loves being outside. She has lots of energy and daily walks are necessary. Exercise = better behavior. Thankfully, she walks beautifully on leash, especially with her prong collar. Foster mom mostly works from home, so she is usually around people. She can be trusted to be at home alone as long as she doesn’t have access to garbage, food, etc. Cayda will counter surf when the opportunity presents itself.
She has not been around young children or cats, and does not get along with every dog. We continue to work on her manners around visitors and guests. She is very wiggly and waggly and can be very excitable. She doesn’t always pay attention to personal space. We are working on her mouthiness, which is improving. Giving her a toy helps! She barks sometimes when she is outside talking to the neighbor dogs, but usually quiets down quickly. Sometimes she will bark at us if she wants attention (like her daily walk or playtime). Overall, Cayda is a sweet girl who just wants to be your friend and play!
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
