History: Duke and Daisy Rae are two adorable littermates who needed a second chance at finding forever homes of their very own. They are social, friendly, and would make great additions to lucky families!
A Note from the Foster: Hi, my name is Duke, I’m a six month old German Wirehair Pointer Mix. My momma already had a couple of foster
puppies when she saw that I needed a home. She couldn’t leave me without a home knowing that I’m a pointer mix. Momma has a 12 year old German Shorthair Pointer so she had to take me in. I’m so happy to report that I’m not disappointing her!
I enjoy being in my crate, it’s my home, my safe place. Because it’s my home, I do not potty in there. I potty outside like momma wants me too.
Toys, I LOVE playing with momma and my toys. Momma can’t believe how nice I play with toys and her considering I’m a six month old pointer mix. I keep hearing mom telling dad that I have just the right amount of energy. She says her twelve year old GSP has more energy than I do, I hear her say something about LOVING my energy level, it’s not to much, it’s just right. I like to play, but I also know how to just chill!
Cuddling, I love to cuddle with my momma. I lay on the floor and she rubs my belly, there is no better feeling. I jump up on her lap every now and then but before you know it, I’m back on the floor playing with my toys.
Little kids and cats, I’m sure I would get along with both, we just don’t have them here but I’m sure I would learn to love them.
Momma says I have to get out of here before she falls in love with me and won’t get me go. I hear her tell dad that I’m a perfect comprise for someone who wants a bird dog but not the super high energy of a German Shorthair. I can’t wait to get to play with my GSP brother, we are going to run, chase, point and all the things us bird dogs should do.
Mom took me on a walk today and I like this leash thing. It gets me outside but keeps me safe.
If you want a mellow, smart, fun, loving bird dog, look no further, I’m right here!
Adoption Fee: $750 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
