History: Edmund is a super handsome 10 year young little fellow who was surrendered by a commercial breeding program. Living in a home is so new to him but he is doing well despite this and is friendly to everyone! He thrives with another confident dog around to show him all about the good life.
A Note from the Foster: Edmund is a 10 year old toy Aussie, and is about as sweet as they come! He’s been with me and my crew for a couple of weeks now and is doing so well!
Edmund is a very chill little guy, but he also has a zest for life! He loves exploring my house. He has learned very quickly that home life is pretty amazing. Plus he has learned that humans aren’t so scary anymore and he loves getting a good rub down.
With his thick coat of fur, Edmund will require frequent brushing/grooming. But he loves getting brushed, and his fur is so soft that it certainly isn’t a chore!
He seems really enjoy the company of other dogs, but doesn’t interact a lot. Another confident dog in the house could be beneficial for him to help show him the ropes. He also is not bothered by or reactive to cats.
Edmund’s potty training is a work in progress. He is doing well as long as he is let out frequently and consistently. He does mark so he’s wearing a belly band, but hopefully this will improve with his upcoming neuter.
He is also doing well in his kennel. He doesn’t bark but once in a while he will give a low howl (which just happens to be the cutest thing I’ve ever heard). He spends my workdays in a kennel/pen, and sleeps in his kennel at night - but I think he would do amazing sleeping with his humans.
Overall, Edmund is an absolute sweetheart and some lucky person will get an amazing little companion!
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
