History: I am a momma dog from the Out of the Cold Rescue Effort!
We recently were arrived back to rescue with over 400+ dogs and 20+ cats looking for a second chance after being surrendered to rescue. They are each going through their own individual journeys while in rescue- many needing extensive medical attention for orthopedic care, dentals, skin issues, etc. Other health concerns were goopy eyes, ear infections, mange, and in need of a good bath and grooming.
These deserving souls will get all the care they need and be ready to go home to your family soon!
A note from the foster: Gabby is a lovely dog who has sadly been overlooked, likely because she is a black dog. It is hard to figure out why because she is the total package! She is a petite girl and not super big. She has a medium energy level and happy to just chill out with you on the couch. She is great with kids, good with other dogs, friendly with all people! Gabby is kennel trained and potty trained. Gabby loves to go for walks but is still working on her leash pulling. She does great in my fenced yard, she loves to chase squirrels and has a pretty high prey drive. I have not seen how she does with cats but based on her prey drive, I would not recommend it. Gabby has a happy go lucky attitude, she is pretty mellow and easy going and loves to be with people and get all the pets she can. Gabby's holiday wish this year will be to finally find her forever family!
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsively more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
