History: We recently welcomed a group of deserving dogs who needed help from overcrowded rural shelters in Texas. They are settling into their foster homes and doing well as they start their journey in finding their forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Jester is a super fun, energetic young dog that absolutely loves his people. He is super loyal, always wants to be within sight of his humans, and genuinely wants to be loved by everyone. He is definitely an easy "car dog" -- he will happily go anywhere with you!
He is definitely food/treat motivated -- so very easy to teach him new tricks! He learned to sit extremely quickly with treats offered.
He does well on walks and would never run away from his people. He has a good recall and is getting even better day-by-day!
He does well with other dogs, and is not aggressive with cats (although he is curious!). He loves toys and anything mentally stimulating -- give Jester a bone and he will be distracted for hours!
He is potty trained with very few accidents. He loves his human to go outside with him when he needs to go though! He keeps his kennel dry at night and will sleep through the night in his crate. He would always love to cuddle in bed with his people though!
Overall -- a lovey boy that just wants to find his permanent home. And how you could resist those absolutely adorable heterochromatic eyes?!
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
