History: We welcomed a group recently from a partnering organization of ours, Villalobos Animal Rescue. These kiddos are SO sweet, social, friendly, and already have a great start at basic obedience and mannerisms.
A Note from the Foster: Keith came transferred into rescue from a New Orleans shelter at the end of February. He was in that shelter for a little over a year after being found as a stray. Needless to say Keith is enjoying the perks of being in a home environment.
Keith loves blankets, attention and cuddles. His energy level is low. He is very content just being present. He has never barked, despite his housemates doing it as a pass time hobby.
Keith is kennel trained, house trained and loves dogs and people. Keith has not been exposed to kids or cats. But given his easy going demeanor it should be an easy adjustment. He also rides great in the car.
Keith weighs a mere 23 lbs. His pictures make him look huge! But he is just a peanut.
Keith appears to have allergies or sorts. We are currently working with the vet to sort out his needs. He also needs 2 teeth extracted and that will happen 3/25.
I truly cannot believe how easy Keith has transitioned into a home environment. He is darn near perfect and will make a perfect addition to someone's home.
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
