History: Left Eye is a stunning and OH so sweet shepherd mix who was transferred to rescue from a rural partner in North Dakota and she is settling in, doing really well. She is medium sized with a heart of gold and hopes to meet you soon!
A note from the foster: Hi - I'm Lefty (Left Eye). I am an exceptionally good girl who is super happy, and loves every person and dog I meet. I am really fast and will run around while outside and wrestle inside with my foster siblings given the chance, but I'm awfully happy to chew a bone and take out all the toys to lay among them. But - my favorite place is to curl up next to my foster mom on the couch with my head in her lap or over her leg.
She got me potty trained pretty quickly since I'm so smart and I haven't had an accident in the house or my kennel for months! While she goes to work I used to "kennel" up easily for a treat, but now I get free rein of the house along with the resident dog who I love, but like to always get between her and my foster mom since they love each other so much and I want to be number 1.
I know; kennel, sit, down, upstairs, gentle, night-night, dinner, outside and I'm working on paw and stay. I love to please, but I get pretty excited and still jump up quite a bit; we are working on that. I've been around kids and think they are wonderful!
My foster mom really wants to keep me, but is going to retire soon and doesn't yet know what her plans will be. So - what do you think, will I fit in with you?
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsively more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
