History: Lenora is a beautiful stocky gal who arrived to rescue unsure and quite stinky. She has been settling into rescue and is a snuggler! She loves to be close by like a velcro :) She is dog, cat, kid, and husband friendly and seems to thrive in a fenced in yard as she has never been on leash before. She is working on this but her forever home may be best with a fenced in yard where she can run and potty comfortably! She hopes to meet you soon.
A Note from the Foster: Overall though she is just a little snuggle bug. She loves to snooze about 90% of the time--ideally next to me or touching me. My resident dog hasn't been excited about her arrival, but she does really seek out his presence and I think she'd really love and find comfort with another dog in the home, that would be accepting of her. When she's not snoozing she is curiously checking things out. She has a little mischievous side to her, which is funny to watch unfold. She's not super food motivated, unless it's human food, that definitely piques her interest. Her underbite with her tongue out is to die for....and when coupled with her soft snores....= Heartmelttttt. She definitely has a playful side, but is still learning how toys work. She loves digging all of the toys out of the toybox and carrying them around, but isn't quite sure what to do with them after that. Overall she does well in her kennel after she settles a bit. Currently she stays quietly in her kennel at night and when I'm gone, but I think she could be one that could graduate from her kennel, once comfortable in her environment as she's pretty low-key overall. We've had no issues with toileting, outside of her challenges to potty on a leash. She's getting more comfortable with the leash, but still doesn't like going potty while attached to it--therefore, she would do best in a fenced in yard. She's still a little shy/skittish, but I can tell that she has a sweet and goofy personality that is just waiting to shine....I think with time, she is going to be even more of a delight than she already is as she continues to come out of her shell!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful!
