History: Leo FKA Hobbes is a handsome boy who was returned to rescue due to no fault of his own. He has adjusted well being back in rescue and has all four paws crossed he can find his forever home soon!
A note from the foster: Leo is a very sweet, handsome guy! We have enjoyed having him very much! He has adjusted well to living with us and seems like a very happy, healthy dog!
Leo knows many commands and is a great listener. He’s extremely loyal to us already and has been great with my kids - he mostly ignores them or wants to play catch with them. My kids love him! He loves his tennis ball so he would love a place to be able to play catch! Sometimes he will just walk around carrying his tennis ball or stuffed toy. I take Leo for a walk everyday and he loves that, we’re working on his leash manners. He mostly walks well but can pull a bit (especially when he sees squirrels). He can seem a bit anxious when we walk by other dogs and may bark and whine like he wants to meet them, but appears to be great with other pups. My mom’s dog (a 20 pound pug mix) has visited and Leo did excellent with her.
He drinks quite a bit of water and can get a little messy with that - nothing too unexpected. He doesn’t like his kennel much but does great out of it and sleeps on his bed all night. Leo is an amazing dog - he’s extremely friendly and loyal and would make the best family dog!!
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsively more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
