History: We received a local plea to help a litter of teenage English Labs from an outdoor living situation. They are social kiddos who do really well with other dogs. They are learning basic obedience, manners, and how to live in the home however they are extremely smart dogs who are learning very quickly. They are each hoping to find forever homes of their very own soon!
A Note from the Foster: My official name is Liam, but my foster mom nicknamed me Roy, Big-Boy Roy, and most often, Good-Boy, Roy. Maybe it's obvious, but I am 75 pounds of pure love and sweetness.
Before I arrived to rescue, I lived my entire life outdoors without much socialization. I was pretty unsure about life indoors, but have since become much more confident and am learning new things every day. I can confidently go through doorways, navigate steps and jump in and out of the car. My foster mom often brings me to her office. I feel like a celebrity when greeted by all the visitors that stop by during their daily routine. I also have been to my mom's barn and have met animals larger than me, she calls them horses. I was super curious and did great. No barking, just gentle nose-to-nose sniffing. I have also spent time with two small humans and do well with their quick movements. Although my favorite place to be is close to my foster mom, I do sleep quietly in my crate (once she can get me in). 😉 I am 95 percent potty trained and do well if I'm kept on a schedule. I live with a small older pup that I would love to play with, but have learned to read her cues, and understand she isn't up for my energy or size. I have met many other dogs and discovered the freedom of unbridled play and Zoomies. My foster mom loves to watch me become the dog I did not have the opportunity to be. She says my natural lab behaviors are also becoming evident. Using my nose and smelling all the good smells on out our walks make her smile. I am discovering what my life as a dog should be and so worthy of finding my forever home. Could that be you?
I promise to fill your life with joy and be the best loyal friend you could ever ask for!
Adoption Fee: $750 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
