History: Mae is a super adorable little girl who needed a second chance to a good life. She is working hard on her trust and confidence building and hopes to find a patient family of her very own soon!
A Note from the Foster: Hi...I'm Mae a 4 year old Bichon, professional lap warmer and snuggler! I enjoy being pet and brushed, and I’m a pro at napping on cozy blankets or dog beds while my foster human works.
I'm still sometimes a little unsure about things, but I'm getting more confident everyday!
My favorite things, in no particular order are:
soft blankets
comfy beds
humans
other dogs
breakfast & dinner.....and the occasional snack in between. I had my first pup cup and it was amazing!
My foster home doesn't have a fenced yard so just a few days into rescue life and I'm already mastering the leash! I'm still trying to figure out how to signal when it’s potty time, but my foster human has me on a strict schedule.
I get along great with the resident dog. I haven't met any little kids up close yet, but have seen some when I'm outside getting in my daily sniffs. I like to watch them quietly.
I sleep quietly at night in my foster human's room in my crate.
I'm currently working on being alone in my crate. Sometimes during the day when my foster human is busy working or if she has to go somewhere that doesn't allow fur friends she puts me in my crate. I do bark when I'm left alone but I'm working on it. Otherwise I'm a quiet girl, I just wish I could be with the humans all the time!
I would do best in a home where the humans are home more than they are away. I ride good in the car so I would make a great travel buddy.
I’d be ok as an only dog, but I wouldn't mind having a furry friend to help me gain confidence and learn even more.
Thanks for taking the time to read about me. I can’t wait to meet my forever human(s) and maybe a bonus fur friend too!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
