Below are instructions for two of the most common microchip companies Coco’s Heart works with. Please refer to your e-mail sent by Microchips Coordinator for which company your newly adopted dog is registered with. Have questions? E-mail microchips@cocosheartdogrescue.org

Please DO NOT try to transfer the microchip before confirming which company your dog is registered with. This is very important!

Smart Tag/Id Tag

In order to transfer the registration to your name, you will need to create an account at http://www.idtag.com Click "Sign up" in the top right corner then enter your email, password and primary contact information. Once you have created your account, please call IDTag at (201) 537-5644 or email microchip@idtag.com to transfer the contact information and ownership into your name. Your pet's microchip number is located at the top, right corner of your Adoption Agreement. (Do not click "register a new dog" as your pet is already registered. Call or email IDTag to complete the transfer into your name). In addition, we request you to add us as the secondary contact, that way if your pet ever finds itself at a shelter, they will contact us for them to return to rescue, if you cannot be reached.
