History: Pearl is a beautiful corgi mix momma who needed help from our Out of the Cold Rescue Effort and arrived to rescue very, very pregnant. She has been the very best momma who has done such a great job at caring for her pups and they are now officially ready to start their journeys in finding forever homes of their very own soon!
A note from the foster: Pearl is a small, cute and very smart girl. At 14 months she is learning how to play with toys and we are working on potty training. It is going well. She will let you know when she needs to go out. She would be be potty trained faster if she had someone with her more often or was on more of a routine.
She just finished weaning her puppies. She has been a very good momma. She is very attentive to her puppies needs. She is independent, but enjoys snuggling with us. She is very food driven so training will be easy. She is great on a leash and loves to go for walks. She is a good jumper, she has jumped over quite a few of our gates. She would be a flight risk if she sees a rabbit or another small animal. She definitely has some hunter instincts. She has gone after our chickens and is curious about the cats. I believe she will be good with other dogs. She is not kennel trained yet because of the puppies. When we put her in a kennel she screams. It will take her time to get comfortable in a new space, so her new family will need to be patient with her. She was recently spayed and is now up to date on all of her shots. She has been a great girl.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
