History: Petunia is a super adorable little girl who needed help from an unfortunate situation in Mexico where she was transferred to Coco’s Heart to get a second chance. She has been doing great in rescue and dreams of finding her forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Meet Petunia!
This little gal is as spunky as her legs are long! She reminds me of some kind of dingo or tiny hyena by the way that she looks and even the way she trots around.🐺 For this reason, I felt that Wiley, like Wiley Coyote, was a more fitting name for her - so that is what she goes by at our house! She has picked this up VERY fast & totally knows her name. Smart little cookie she is!🍪
When she first arrived at my house, we still had quite a bit of snow. Wiley is from Mexico, so never having endured cold temps & snow, she was not a fan!❄️ She never has had any accidents in the house, but basically I would have to find a patch of grass for her to go potty on, as going in the snow was not going to be an option.😂 It was pretty comical to watch, but as time goes on, she has figured this out & goes potty fairly quickly when let outside.🧻
Wiley lives with my three resident dogs who range from 10 to 70 lbs. She gets along with all of them very well - but especially likes my smallest girl, Dolly. They are like two peas in a pod & LOVE to play together.👯♀️ She frequently does the little jump into a bow move & it is the cutest thing ever.😍
Wiley is kenneled for about 8hrs/day M-F while I am at work & does great with this. She always keeps her space clean & dry.✨ I do actually feel that she could be trusted to be left out to free roam the house. I was kenneling her at night, which she did great with & never made a peep, but have moved away from that, as she has proved to be such a good girl. She either sleeps on a pillow on the floor next to my side of the bed, or curled up next to Dolly at the end of my bed.🥰
Wiley's one little quirk is that she does not seem to love men a whole lot. She is a girls' girl through & through💁🏼♀️ She is slowly starting to come around & warm up to my boyfriend. She will take treats from him & will gladly sit on my lap if I am sitting next to him. It seems that she is just most fearful of him as he moves about the house. We are working on this & I am confident she will get through it - she's a strong girl💪🏻
I am absolutely obsessed with her enormous ears & long legs!
I think you will be too❤️
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
