History: Peyton is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance when she landed in a rural impound. She is doing great in rescue and has her paws crossed to find her forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Hello, my name is Peyton. However, my foster family calls me Poppy. I am a year-and-a-half-old shepherd mix who has lots of energy. I am currently up on all my shots and have been spayed. I do great with children, the youngest I have come in contact with is a 7 year old. I do well with other dogs but on a slow introduction. My foster family has a resident cat, but she stays in the basement till I go to bed.
The games I like to play with my foster family are fetch and tug of war. Sometimes, I don’t want to give up my toys and rather chew on them. The foster family has got me potty and crate trained, and I am walking much better on the leash. I don’t like the collar and leash when I’m walking, but I wear a harness when we go on walks, so I don’t choke when I smell all the wildlife in our neighborhood.
I will eat my dry food but with a twist. I love any green vegetable with my food. It gives the dry food some flavor. So, to recap, good with kids, crate-trained, potty-trained, and all-around adorable. After reading this, do I sound like a perfect fit for your family?
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
