History: We recently welcomed a deserving group of kiddos from an overcrowded shelter who needed a second chance to a good life. They are unique and so special in their own ways and each hoping to find forever homes of their own soon!
A Note from the Foster: Beautiful, kind, sweet, amazing Presley recently arrived at Cocos Heart from our partner rescue located in the south. She was an easy foster choice after seeing her kind brown eyes (it's always in the eyes) and reading her glowing shelter report. A staff "favorite" is how they described her and boy, they were spot on!!
Presely was initially a bit on the shy side, but due to all the socializing we have done since her arrival, you would never know it.
She is a permanent fixture at my office, has spent an evening hanging out at a brewery and been introduced to horses (not her favorite)/dogs/people at my barn. When the weather permits, she loves the outdoors and going on walks. Wherever Presley goes she makes immediate friends, most of whom become smitten with her and want to spend time with her. She has the happiest disposition and when she greets a human (men, woman, children), her tail not only wags, but her entire body is happy. She occasionally may still be slightly wary of a first introductions, due to her history, but has quicky learned and is confident most humans are wonderful. Presely is an expert opportunist-if there is an available lap, she will find it and make herself comfortable (yes, she is approximately 50 lbs., but nonetheless, she will find a way to balance). With that said, she is also the very best snuggle buddy. She prefers to becuddled up next to me on the couch or snoozing at the end of my bed. I have kenneled her, which she handles well, but it seems to provide her with unnecessary anxiety, so I am testing her ability to free roam without incident- so far, we are up to 3 hours. Presely is also a smart girl, very treat motivated and has learned a few tricks -sit, down, catch-it, and speak. She is potty trained if you get her out on a schedule and has not had any accidents. She understands, "go potty," "wait" and "let's go." Our newest habit is giving hugs- when asked, she leans right in and rests her mug against my shoulder. Presely currently lives harmoniously with my 12-year-old smaller/terrier mix (bossy) resident dog. She is very respectful and reads other dogs’ queues. She has met several other dogs and after appropriate introductions does an excellent job of intermingling.
Overall, Presely is any easy, calm, loving, attentive, kindhearted girl who will be your loyal, loving lifetime best friend. Basically, all she wants is to be wherever you are and will beextremely appreciative of your love. There is no doubt your life will be better with Presely by your side. One last thing, she loves her car rides and is an excellent co-pilot!
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
