History: Rhaenyra is a beautiful girl who found herself living in a rural impound and in desperate need of finding rescue- she was expecting a litter of puppies and the temperatures were getting colder and colder by the day. Having puppies in the impound is far from ideal so with a big THANK YOU to her foster who stepped forward, Rhaenyra arrived to rescue in our Out of the Cold rescue effort weekend and has been a wonderful momma to her adorable kiddos. They are officially ready to start their journey in finding forever homes of their very own soon!
A Note from the Foster: I was a young mama and that was a lot of work! I did have a few great place and people that took care of me and my pups along the way. Right now I am with my new foster parents and getting comfortable with them. Both of them say I am a sweet lady. I like them calling me LADY, it makes me happy!
My foster parents are letting me settle in. This is a quiet place without pups, so I am getting lots of naps in! At night, night time I sleep in a kennel, but all day I get the entire house. My parents don’t allow me on the furniture, but I have two cozy beds that I love. Sometimes I do sneak on the couch, but my mama says ‘off’ and I am a good listener - just sometimes I forget ;)
They say I am a silly Lady because I don’t eat popcorn or people food. Actually, I am very polite and don’t beg it’s not very Lady like! I am not motivated by food or treats, but by praise and hugs! I walk well on a leash around the yard, but I am leery about going for rides, but I am a smart Lady and my parents say I will master that soon too!
She had mastered the car rides and going on adventures. She has been around little humans under 2 year old and plays nicely with them. She also seems to tolerate other dogs and let a cat walk right under her without issue. I believe she is an all around great family dog!

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful!
