History: We recently held our annual Out of the Cold Rescue Effort and welcomed back 200+ animals to rescue. This rescue effort helps animals out of the cold, frigid weather of North Dakota and welcomes them to loving foster homes at Coco’s Heart who work towards finding forever homes for these sweet pups.
A Note from the Foster: Meet Rosie, a beautiful golden-haired pup with a heart full of love to give! Rosie is incredibly sweet but she can be a bit nervous and needs some time to adjust to new environments and people. Once she has had some one-on-one bonding time with you, she will show you her true spunky personality and will be happy to curl up in your lap to snuggle.
Rosie doesn’t currently love the cold snow on her little paws, so trips outside are very short and she usually goes potty within 1 or 2 minutes. When inside, she uses her puppy pads like a champ. Rosie is smart and I believe she will catch on to housetraining quickly with consistency and routine.
Due to her shy nature, she would thrive in a home with another dog who can help her build confidence. Currently, Rosie loves to follow around the resident 10-yr old Boxer mix and copy her behaviors. She adores other dogs and will respect their boundaries when they let her know “that’s enough”.
Rosie showed me her playful side on day 3 of fostering her. Her favorite toys are ropes and a rubber soccer ball. She loves carrying toys around and stashing them in her kennel. She hasn’t chewed on anything she isn’t supposed to yet and is not bitey during playtime. She’s a fun pup to play with!
I have cleaned Rosie’s ears and trimmed her nails with a dremel. She was very cooperative during both instances and I think she will turn out to be very patient with grooming as she gets older.
Rosie is catching on to “sit” quickly and does very well in her crate at night. She is not very food motivated, but does enjoy praise.
If you're looking for a gentle and loving companion, Rosie might be the perfect addition to your family!
Adoption Fee: $750 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
