History: Rylee is a beautiful girl who was surrendered to rescue and given a second chance at a good life. She is about 7 years young with a lot of love to offer a lucky family of her own!
A note from the foster: Hi I’m Rylee!
I am 7 years young as my foster family likes to say, and a petite 9 pounds! My foster family says I am the perfect little house guest, I know to go potty outside and love walking on a leash!
In fact I love my walks so much, I really like to explore, and like to pick the direction to go. There’s so many places to go and things to sniff after all! My foster family says I have what is called “prey” drive, so they say they have to hold onto my leash extra tight when those pesky squirrels show up, but they don’t mind, they know I’m just trying to do my job and protect them!
I can be a bit shy at first, and take time to open up, but once I do I have so much love to give! While I am still a bit skiddish, my foster family says I am growing in confidence every day! Loud noises like buses and trucks are still very scary to me and make me tremble, so I think having a confident other dog to learn from in my future home or a patient human teacher would be best for me.
Speaking of other dogs, I love them! I get along well with dogs of all kinds and sizes. I get really excited when I see them on a walk and I start barking because I want to say hello.
I forgot to tell you about my other favorite thing, TOYS! Small squeaky ones are my favorite. Sometimes I must bring one with on a walk just to make sure it doesn’t disappear while I’m gone. I love to bring them in the yard for play time too, after all what’s better than the outside plus a toy?! Sometimes when I’m really excited to see you, I’ll greet you with a squeaky toy in my mouth.
My foster family says I’m what they like to call a “Velcro dog”. I love to follow my foster mom around and be near her. However, I still don’t love to be picked up, UNLESS it’s for nap time on the couch. I also really enjoy having my own space and can be very independent, but I am always down for having my butt scratched hehe.
My foster family says I am very quiet, except when I’m in the crate. If you leave me there by myself, I will bark continuously to let you know my discontent. When I’m not in the crate and am roaming the house, I will not get into anything I shouldn't. I will sleep in a crate as long as I have a dog friend nearby or I can see my foster mom!
I have been waiting for so long to find a family to share all of my love with! Could it be you?!
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
