History: Our Out of the Cold Rescue efforts continue all winter long as we have recently welcomed another deserving group from our rural area partners in North Dakota.
A Note from the Foster: If you are looking for a little shadow, a loyal companion who will insist that he needs to follow you everywhere, even into the bathroom, then look no further. He’s a gem and will think the world of you.
He has made major improvements over the past couple of months. He is nearly potty trained, and keeps his kennel clean during the day. He does sleep in a kennel during the night. However, he doesn’t love it. He eventually settles down but I know he’d love to be near his person at night. He got to sleep in bed with a temp foster and did great!
He is an excellent cuddler! He prefers to cuddle on the couch next to his humans over playing. When he does play, he plays hard and very well with his big dog friends. He’s very affectionate and is always showing how much he loves our kids with endless kisses.
He’s very food motivated, eating is his favorite. He likes to supervise his food preparation and knows to sit and wait til his bowl is placed in front of him. He also likes to be in the kitchen with you so he can quickly clean up any food or spills that happen, he is such a good little helper.
We have started to learn about walks, they aren’t his favorite, he actually very much dislikes them. He doesn’t like walking away from the house but after some practice he’ll start to see that they are enjoyable and that he always gets to go back home.
He would do well as a single dog or one of many, kids or no kids.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
