History: Skyla is a beautiful girl who needed a second chance from an unfortunate situation. She thrives with another calm and confident dog in the home and is working so hard on her trust and confidence. She hopes to find a patient family of her very own soon!
A Note from the Foster: Skyla is an observant, polite lady who is slowly learning to trust people. She has come so far and continues to make great strides. Having another dog in the home would definitely benefit her. She has not been around cats or children yet, but she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. With slow introductions, she may be okay being around either.
Miss Skyla enjoys resting on a comfy dog bed or making herself at home on the couch. Snuggling is not really her thing, but may surprise you by laying next to you. Though she’s pretty laid back, sometimes the zoomies sneak out. Seeing her doing actual dog things will make your heart so happy!
This lovely lady is potty trained and crate trained. Getting her used to her crate was a bit of a task, but she does fantastic in it now-as long as treats are involved. One thing that we’re still working on is leash training. She is not fond of the leash, but will go for short walks with it on. She really loves exploring our fenced in backyard with her four-legged foster siblings.
Skyla is crossing her paws (she does this often😊) that she finds a calm, loving and patient forever family who will give her time to emerge into the pup she was meant to be!💕

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
