History: Sonny is a unique little fella who needed a second chance to a good life. He dreams of finding his forever home soon and would make a great addition to a lucky home of his very own!
A note from the foster: Sonny is a very sweet, cuddly, smart little boy. Sonny who’s legs are almost as long as his body, and who loves, loves, love to run at full joyful speed. We are working on leash walking, but Sonny often whines when he is on a leash. For that reason, I believe his ideal home would have a secure fence so Sonny can run safely. Potty training is progressing well, as long as Sonny gets outside every three hours or so during the day. In the meantime, I keep a belly band on Sonny, although most of the time it’s dry when I take it off on the way outside. Sonny gets along well with large, medium and small dogs, but he would also be fine as an only dog. He hasn’t been around cats, but I don’t believe he would have a problem with a cat in the home. Sonny’s ideal adopter would be someone who will readily cuddle with him, and allow him to lay next to you on a couch or chair. Sonny is a breeder release dog without fear of women, and just a little fear of men. Sonny will love you with his whole heart, if you give Sonny the love and attention he so richly deserves.
Adoption Fee: $550 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsively more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
