History: Sterling is a striking young mini poodle who needed a second chance at a good life. He is working on his confidence and seems to thrive with another dog nearby. He is hoping to find his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Hi, I'm Sterling! I might be a little shy when we first meet, but give me some time, and I’ll be right by your side. Once I feel comfortable, I love to snuggle up close and show my affection with plenty of kisses. If you sit on the couch, don’t be surprised if I try to sneak onto your lap—I just can’t resist a good cuddle!
I also love playing with other dogs! My foster sibling (a big 75-pound lab mix) and I have so much fun wrestling and running around the yard together. Recently, I discovered how awesome squeaky toys are, and I’m even learning to play fetch!
I’m still working on building my confidence. Sometimes I get startled easily, but I’m getting braver every day. Potty training is also a work in progress, but I’m improving with lots of encouragement.
I’m looking for a patient and loving family who will give me time to adjust and feel safe. In return, I promise to be a loyal, affectionate companion who will bring lots of love to your home.
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
