History: We recently received a plea to help an adorable litter of lemon and white beagle pups. They arrived to rescue eager to get a new start to life and work on gaining some weight as they arrived underweight and in sad shape. They are each hoping to find forever homes of their very own soon!
A Note from the Foster: Trip is a 6 month old male Beagle who is goofy as can be! This sweet pup will make you laugh when he gets the zoomies, plays with himself in the mirror, and whips his head back to give his signature beagle howl. When Trip first came to his foster home, he was extremely shy and timid. He didn’t understand doors, thresholds, or leashes. Now, he is learning how to dog! He is still working on leash and kennel training but is showing improvement. He was overly motivated by food, but with training and consistency he is becoming more well behaved around food. We’re still working on potty training, but he is pretty consistent with using the potty pads! He is AMAZING with other animals. He gets along super well with our dominant resident dog and is crazy about playing with her. He also is warm towards all people, and will follow you around the house because he loves to be around humans! He is an absolute cuddle bug at night. He has been around my sister’s cats and completely ignored them so he would do fine in a home with cats. Trip would do best in a home with another dog as he did show separation anxiety when we left him home alone without our resident dog, but whenever we leave him home with our resident dog he is completely fine! Plus him having another dog around will set a good example for him while he continues to work on his training! This sweet, floppy eared boy will make you smile and laugh every day and would make an excellent addition to the right family.

Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
