History: Tug is a handsome little boy who needed a second chance at a good life. He arrived to rescue nervous and afraid but has been making great strides with his trust and confidence in his foster home. He is officially ready to start his journey in finding his forever home soon!
A Note from the Foster: Hello, my name is Tug!
I was a bit shy and reserved for the first day in my new foster home and they understood. I mean really, I was wearing a heavy coat when I arrived to rescue with approximately 12lbs of hair and feces. They put that coat away for good, I felt maybe a bit cold, but very freeing. So, as my foster parents just kept saying Tug over and over and over again. I finally thought, hey why not see who these people are, they seem pretty cool. Then as the days went by and I started to explore this new living environment, I started to love this life. I get food twice a day and water at my free will. and they always are petting me, and I swear this lady that lives here, she is always trying to give these things they call “treats”, o ’h don’t try to trick me with your “treats”, I am not following that one. So, she tried every treat she could think of and then she landed on some with peanut butter, yep, that smells good. I will try it but don’t look at me lady. Bam, I got it, yum, that is good. So, she kept doing this and, yep, she is a nice lady and these treats are good. Well, I catch on fast is what they are saying, I can hear them. But darn it is cold outside and hey I just lost my hair people. Let’s get this outdoor activity done and quickly. As they were noticing, I wasn’t loving this cold, so that nice lady knit me a scarf and bought me a jacket, life is good!
Since day one, I found my kennel to be my place to just go hang out or stretch out and take that nap, I didn’t like being picked up and brought to the kennel so they began to say “kennel up” over and over and over again and one day, I was like, hey are you wanting me to get in my house? Okay, I will do it, and I ran over. From that moment on, I finally knew what “kennel up” meant. I wasn’t interested in the reward but loved all the love they showed me. A few things I am still working on are walking on my leash, but I have never had one of these before, so I am getting it, I think anyhow. The other is I haven’t had an accident in their house in over 2 weeks, I show no signs I need to go potty, so I am more scheduled potty trained. However, I think I may love having a fenced yard, but if you like to walk, I will absolutely be your partner. I like it too, well wait, not when it is cold. I really like being around other dogs, I think this is the highlight of any walk is getting to know the dogs. I met a few family dogs as well and was really sad when they said it was time to go home and found out they were not coming with me. I know I would love to meet you and hey maybe your whole family, including a dog, wink, wink. I am young, vibrant and ready to call your place home. Don’t wait, I am a pretty cool dude!
Adoption Fee: $550 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
