History: Waffles is a big stocky boy who originally needed help from our Out of the Cold Rescue effort and had been adopted. He is learning how to live in a home and channel his energy while in a house versus outside :) He hopes to find his forever family soon!
A Note from the Foster: Waffles is a playful 75 pound ball of playful energy. We have only had Waffles for a short period of time, but in that time we have found him to be thoughtful, athletic & a fast learner. Waffles is a giant freeze baby. He has struggled with wanting to go outside long enough to go to the bathroom, resulting in a few accidents in his crate. Now that it’s warmer (30s) he’s doing a lot better!
He sleeps in a crate at night and hangs out in one during the day while we are at work and he will complain that his in the crate but settles in pretty quick.
He will play fetch, but will destroy the ball used, he has learned sit, shake and other commands. He is extremely food motivated, so he is easy to train. He is learning to walk on a leash still hard to understand walking on a a leash, but occasionally will pull and he is a strong dog. Waffles did well with our other dog. His bull in a China shop “incidents” are becoming few and far between. He is a goofy creature looking for someone to help him be the best bulldog he can be.
Adoption Fee: $500 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
