History and a note from the foster: Hello Humans!
Wow I got to tell you I have had a long travel to get here, and I am now looking for my furever family! Opps sorry I got ahead of myself! First let me introduce myself to you: My name is Wynee and I am a 7 year young Boston Terrier. I have been used my whole life for breeding purposes and kept in a kennel all the time. Well this wonderful family took me in and holy moly this life is the BEST! Did you know that dogs are allowed to run around outside and go to the bathroom outside? Well I did not know this till now. I got to tell you it is the best! I have kept my kennel clean in my foster home since I arrived here. I am still working on potty training but I am making improvements. Especially now that I am off of my steroids that I was on. My foster mom keeps me on a pretty tight schedule for going out to go potty, usually she takes me out whenever I wake up from a nap and after I eat or play hard.
You wanna know what else I learned, sleeping on the couch is my absolute favorite activity! I love the couch it is so soft! I even will snuggle with the resident dogs here and I am starting to try and play with the resident dogs! I am still trying to figure out the toy thing, not sure they fancy me all that much. Sometimes I try to play with my foster family and I get excited and I bark and bounce. Yes, you read that right when I bark my foster mom says my back legs push me up and I bounce. And hey if you are looking for someone to ride in the car with you I am your girl. I love riding in the car. I either sit up and quietly look around or I will curl up in a ball and sleep in my car seat. Safety first my foster mom always says when she buckles me in. You know what I even got to have a pup cup and that was so yummy!
I do sleep in my kennel all night and I stay in my kennel when my foster family is gone. My foster mom learned that if you put a blanket over my kennel I feel more safe and I am quiet in my kennel.
Now I have to tell you the most important thing about me. I am deaf. For that reason I have a few special things that my foster mom thinks would be best for me in my furever home.
1st: I would do better in a fenced in yard so that I don't wander away or in the road, since I will not hear you call me. I would not do well on a tie out leash.
2nd: I would do better in a home with older kids say above the age of 10. Not that I do anything wrong when I am around little kids, as I have been around them and been fine but they could startle me if I am sleeping and they touch me and it scares me. My foster mom usually lifts my blanket off my kennel and than she wiggles my bed if I am asleep so I know that she is there. I also prefer to see someone coming up to me to touch me. If someone comes from behind it scares me and than I run away from them
Those are the two things I need in my furever home. And I have to tell you I have never been around a cat before so I am not sure what I would do around one.
Oh I should also let you know that when it comes to feeding time my foster family has tried so hard to get me to eat from a bowl however I just tip the bowl and than eat my food so they usually just scatter my food on the floor for me. This is the way I have been feed for years most likely they would just throw food in my kennel and I would eat it. I had never seen a dog eat out of a bowl till this family...I personally find it odd that the other dogs eat out of a bowl
I am still getting used to people and some times can be shy and need time to warm up to them.
So if you have room on your couch for a new furever friend than I really think you should apply for me and we could meet up and maybe you could be my furever family!
xoxo, Wynee
Adoption Fee: $550 + tax
Adoption Status: Is this dog available? Submitting an application is the best first step to learning if a dog is still available. There is a chance this dog could have a pending adoption when your application is submitted, however our team will offer approved applicants to be put on a waiting list for that dog. Additionally, we can make recommendations on other dogs that may be a match. Pending adoptions do not mean the adoption is finalized. Why did we implement this change? We implemented this update because, unfortunately, dogs were pending for applicants for several weeks and then the applicant would change their mind. This happens more often with puppies, as applications are submitted impulsivly more often for them. Our process is great because it takes a little time, so impulsive decisions fade. However it was unfortunate for the dogs, and the foster homes, as then the process needed to be re-started. By securing a wait-list we are able to move forward more quickly if a pending adoption falls through. This is a new process for us, so your feedback along the way is helpful! Thank you for supporting rescue and adoption!
